• Selected candidates will be placed as Management Trainee in E-1 Grade in the scale of pay of ₹. 60,000 – 1,80,000/- at the initial Basic of ₹. 60,000/- per month during the training period. On successful and satisfactory completion of 1-year training cum probation, service will be confirmed in E-1 Grade as Officer (Discipline). Besides Basic pay, candidates will also be entitled to Dearness Allowance, HRA, perquisites and allowances under cafeteria approach including Performance Related Pay (PRP) as applicable for the post. Benefits such as Leave, Medical facilities, CMPF, CMPS, Gratuity, CIL Executive Defined Contribution Pension Scheme etc. will be admissible as per extant rules of the company. The actual remuneration may vary depending on place of posting, financial performance of the Company and also performance rating of individual.

Discipline Wise Qualification

• Civil / Electrical / Mechanical / E&C / Industrial Engineering : Degree in Relevant Engineering Field with (60% Marks).
• System : BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / I.T or any 1st Class Degree with MCA.
• Geology : M.Sc. / M.Tech. in Geology / Applied Geology / Geophysics / Applied Geophysics with (60% Marks).
• Rajbhasha (Hindi) : MA in Hindi with (60% Marks), and Graduation with Hindi and English as Main Subjects with (50% Marks).
• Company Secretary : Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University/ Institute having acquired Company Secretary qualification with Associate/ Fellow Membership of ICSI.

How to Apply

• Step 1 - Official Website : Visit the Coal India Limited official website at www.coalindia.in.

• Step 2 - Navigate to Jobs : Go to the "Career with CIL" section and then select the "Jobs at Coal India" section.

• Step 3 - Online Registration : Complete the online registration process starting from May 12, 2026, at 10:00 Hrs.

• Step 4 - Fill Application Form : Enter your details and select your preferred post and test cities.

• Step 5 - Upload Documents : Upload scanned, self-attested copies of required documents like your photo, signature, and educational certificates in the prescribed formats.

• Step 6 - Pay Application Fee : Pay the non-refundable fee of ₹1180 (for General/OBC/EWS) through the online mode only.

• Step 7 - Final Submission : Review all information carefully and submit the application before the deadline of June 11, 2026, at 18:00 Hrs.

• Step 8 - Print Confirmation : Retain a printout of the submitted application form and payment acknowledgement slip for future reference.

Selection Process

• Step 1 : Online Application Submission - Eligible candidates must apply through the online mode on the CIL website between May 12, 2026, and June 11, 2026.

• Step 2 : Computer Based Test (CBT) - Candidates must appear for a 3-hour online test consisting of Paper-I (General Knowledge, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and General English) and Paper-II (Professional Knowledge).

• Step 3 : Merit Panel Preparation - A final merit panel will be prepared based solely on the marks obtained in the Computer Based Online Test, as no interviews will be held for final selection.

• Step 4 : Document Verification (DV) - Shortlisted candidates will be intimated via the CIL website and registered email to undergo verification of their original documents and details.

• Step 5 : Initial Medical Examination (IME) - Candidates successfully completing document verification must undergo a medical examination by the company's Medical Committee to ensure they meet the required physical standards.

• Step 6 : Final Selection and Appointment - Selected candidates who pass both the DV and IME will receive an Offer of Appointment to join as Management Trainees.
