Educational Qualification

Development Assistant

  • Degree : A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline is required.
  • Minimum Marks : Candidates must have a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Relaxation : SC, ST, PWBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates only need a pass class.
  • Technical Skill : Candidates must have knowledge of word processing on a PC.

Development Assistant (Hindi)

  • Degree Options :

    • A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university in English/Hindi medium with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects.
    • OR a Bachelor's Degree with Hindi and English as main subjects.
  • Minimum Marks : A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate is required.
  • Relaxation : SC, ST, PWBD, and Ex-Servicemen (EXS) candidates require only a pass class.
  • Language Skill : Candidates must be able to translate from English to Hindi and vice-versa.
  • Technical Skill : Knowledge of word processing on a PC is mandatory.

Additional General Requirements for Both Posts

  • Language Proficiency : Candidates must be proficient in the official language of the State for which they are applying (able to read, write, speak, and understand it).
  • Ex-Servicemen : Those who are not graduates must have passed the matriculation (or equivalent) examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defense service.
  • CGPA Conversion : If a university awards aggregate grade points instead of marks, the following conversion table is used if the university does not provide its own criteria:
    • 6.75 CGPA = 60%
    • 6.25 CGPA = 55%
    • 5.75 CGPA = 50%
    • 5.25 CGPA = 45%

How to Apply Online

Step-by-Step Application Process

  1. Registration :

    • Visit the NABARD website and select "Recruitment to the post of Development Assistant / Development Assistant (Hindi)-2026".

    • Click "Click here for New Registration" and enter basic details.

    • Note down the generated Provisional Registration Number and Password sent via Email and SMS.

  2. Document Upload :

    • Upload the scanned photograph, signature, thumb impression, and handwritten declaration.
      Live Photo Capture : You must also capture and upload a live photograph using a webcam or mobile phone during the application

  3. Details Filling & Preview :

    • Enter educational qualifications and other required information.

    • Use the "Save and Next" feature to verify data.

    • Click the "Preview" tab to verify all details before final submission, as no changes are allowed after clicking "Final Submit".

  4. Payment of Fees :

    • Click the "Payment" tab.
      Fees (Non-refundable): ₹550 for General/OBC/EWS and ₹100 for SC/ST/PWBD (exclusive of GST).

    • On successful payment, an e-Receipt will be generated.

  5. Final Step : Print your e-receipt and the completed application form for your records.

Selection Process

Phase I : Preliminary Examination (Online)

The preliminary exam is a screening test that is qualifying in natureThe marks obtained here will not be added to the final merit list.

  • Structure for Development Assistant :
    • English Language : 40 questions (40 marks).
    • Numerical Ability : 30 questions (30 marks).
    • Reasoning : 30 questions (30 marks).
    • Total : 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes duration.
  • Structure for Development Assistant (Hindi)
    • English Language : 40 questions (40 marks).
    • Professional Knowledge (Hindi/English) : 30 questions (30 marks).
    • Reasoning : 30 questions (30 marks).
    • Total : 100 questions, 100 marks, 60 minutes duration.
  • Shortlisting : Candidates are shortlisted for the Main examination in a ratio of maximum 1:25 based on their performance and meeting individual and aggregate cut-off marks.

Phase II : Main Examination (Online)

The final merit list is prepared based only on the marks obtained in the Main Examination (both objective and descriptive sections).

  • Development Assistant Syllabus : Includes Reasoning (30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks), General Awareness with a focus on agriculture and banking (50 marks), Computer Knowledge (40 marks), and a Descriptive English Test (50 marks).
  • Development Assistant (Hindi) Syllabus : Includes Reasoning (20 marks), Professional Knowledge (50 marks), General Awareness (40 marks), Computer Knowledge (40 marks), and a Descriptive English Test (50 marks).
  • Penalty for Wrong Answers : For objective tests in both phases, 1/4th of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Phase III : Language Proficiency Test (LPT)

  • Candidates who qualify the Main exam must undergo a Language Proficiency Test in the official language of the state they applied for.

  • Exemption : Candidates who have passed the 10th or 12th standard with the official language as one of the subjects are exempt from this test, provided they submit valid proof (marksheets).

  • The LPT is qualifying in nature, but failing it will lead to disqualification from the appointment.

Final Selection

Final selection is based on the Main Examination performance, passing the LPT, and a successful biometric verificationA waitlist of up to 50% of the vacancies will also be maintained.
