  • Passed / Appearing Master Degree in Related Subject with (Gen / EWS : 55% Marks) & (OBC / SC / ST / 3rd Gender : 50% Marks),
  • 4 Years Bachelor Degree Candidate Also Eligible.

How to Apply

  • Step 1 (Registration) : Register online at ugcnet.nta.nic.in using your own personal email ID and mobile number.

  • Step 2 (Application Form) : Log in to fill out the online application form and record the system-generated application number.

  • Step 3 (Uploads) : Upload a live photograph along with scanned images of a recent photograph (10kb–200kb) and your signature (4kb–30kb).

  • Step 4 (Fee Payment) : Pay the required examination fee online through SBI, Canara, ICICI, HDFC Bank, Debit/Credit Card, or UPI.

  • Step 5 (Confirmation) : Download, save, and print a copy of the generated Confirmation Page for your future reference.

Selection Process

  • Computer-Based Test (CBT) Examination : Candidates appear for the exam in CBT mode only, consisting of Paper-I (General Paper) and Paper-II (Subject-specific) in a single three-hour session without a break.

  • Display of Recorded Responses and Provisional Answer Keys : NTA displays the attempted question papers and provisional answer keys on its website for two to three days.

  • Key Challenge Window : Candidates can challenge the provisional answer keys online by paying a non-refundable processing fee.

  • Final Answer Key Declaration : Subject experts examine all challenges and a final answer key is declared.

  • Result Compilation : The result is compiled based on the final answer key.

  • Declaration of Result : Results are declared on the NTA website in percentile along with marks/normalized marks.
