JTET Paper 1 (Primary) (Classes 1–5) Qualifications

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 45% marks, coupled with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program from a recognized institution.
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Special Education (D.Ed. – Special Education).

JTET Paper 2 (Upper Primary) (Classes 6–8) Qualifications

Graduation with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), either completed or appearing in the final year.
Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and enrollment in or completion of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or B.A./B.Sc.Ed program from a recognized institution.
B.A. (Education), B.Sc. (Education), or B.Ed (Special Education) with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized institution.

How to Apply

Locate Application Form : Click on the "JHTET 2026 - Exam Application Form Portal" or "Apply Online for JTET 2026" link. Registration : Select "New Candidate Registration" to generate a user ID and password. Fill Details : Log in and enter personal information, academic qualifications, and choose Paper 1, Paper 2, or both. Upload Documents : Upload scanned copies of your recent photograph and signature in the prescribed format. Fee Payment : Pay the application fee through online modes like UPI, Debit/Credit Card, or Net Banking. Fee Structure : General/OBC/EWS - ₹1,300 (Single Paper), ₹1,500 (Both papers); SC/ST/PWD - ₹700 (Single Paper), ₹800 (Both papers). Selection Process
Online Registration & Application (21 April - 21 May 2026) : Candidates must visit the official website (e.g., jacexamportal.in or jssc.jharkhand.gov.in) to register using a valid email and mobile number. Fill out the application form with personal, academic, and subject details. Document Upload : Scanned copies of photograph, signature, and necessary educational certificates must be uploaded in the specified format. Application Fee Payment : Pay the required fee online (General/OBC/EWS: ₹1,300; SC/ST: ₹700; PwD: ₹700; Special Tribal Group: ₹500). Submission & Printing : Review all details carefully and submit the application form. Download and print the confirmation page. Admit Card Release : JAC will release the admit card (expected 7-10 days before the exam) on the official website. Offline Examination (JHTET 2026) : Appear for the exam (Paper I for Classes 1-5, Paper II for Classes 6-8). The exam features 150 objective-type questions (MCQ) with no negative marking. Result & Certification : Results will be declared based on qualifying marks. Successful candidates will receive a qualifying certificate with lifetime validity.
