How to Apply

Step 1 : Registration (Sign-Up)

  • Visit the Portal : Go to the "Careers" section of the BEL website (www.bel-india.in) and click the registration link.
  • Enter Details : Provide your personal and contact information, including a valid Email ID and Mobile Number.
  • OTP Verification : Click "Generate OTP." You will receive separate codes on your mobile and email; enter both to verify your contact details.
  • Submit Registration : Agree to the terms, re-verify your entered values, and click "Submit". You will receive an Application Sequence Number (User ID) and Password via email and SMS.

Step 2 : Filling the Application

  • Login : Use your new credentials to log in and click the "Go to Application" button.
  • Complete All Sections : Fill in your personal, communication, and detailed qualification information.
  • Select Test Centers : Choose five preferred test centres from the list in Annexure-A.

Step 3 : Document Uploads

Ensure your scanned files meet the following requirements:

  • Photograph : Recent color passport size (white background) between 100 KB and 200 KB in .jpg/.jpeg format.
  • Signature : Signed on white paper with a black ink pen, sized between 80 KB and 150 KB in .jpg/.jpeg format.
  • Other Documents : Any additional documents required as per the advertisement.

Step 4 : Fee Payment

  • Redirect to Gateway : After clicking "Submit," you will be automatically redirected to the SBI e-Pay Lite payment gateway.
  • Amount : Candidates in the GEN/EWS/OBC (NCL) categories must pay Rs. 1,180 (Rs. 1,000 + GST).
  • Exemptions : SC, ST, PwBD, and ESM candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.

Step 5 : Final Submission and Printing

  • Preview : Use the "Preview" tab to check for errors before final submission, as the form cannot be edited once submitted.
  • Print Application : Once payment is successful, download and print your completed application form and payment receipt.
  • Retention : Keep these printouts for future reference; the option to print will disappear after the application deadline.

Selection Process

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)

  • Format : The test lasts 120 minutes and consists of 125 objective-type questions.
  • Content : It includes 100 Technical Questions related to your engineering discipline and 25 General Aptitude and Reasoning Questions.
  • Language : The paper is bilingual, provided in both English and Hindi.
  • Scoring : Each correct answer earns 1 mark, while 1/4th mark is deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Weightage : The CBT carries a weightage of 85 marks toward final selection.

2. Shortlisting for Interview

  • Qualifying Marks : To be considered for shortlisting, candidates must meet the following minimum scores in the CBT:
  • General/OBC/EWS : 35%.
  • SC/ST/PwBD : 30%.
  • Ratio : Based on CBT merit, candidates are shortlisted for the interview in a 1:5 ratio (five candidates for every one post).

3. Interview

  • Weightage : The interview carries a weightage of 15 marks.
  • Language : Candidates may choose to interview in either English or Hindi.
  • Qualifying Marks : Just like the CBT, you must score a minimum of 35% (General/OBC/EWS) or 30% (SC/ST/PwBD) in the interview separately to remain eligible.
  • Travel Reimbursement : While no travel allowance is provided for the CBT, outstation candidates shortlisted for the interview are eligible for reimbursement of AC Chair Car or III Tier AC train fare.

4. Final Selection

  • Total Score : Final selection is determined by your combined performance in both the CBT and the interview.
  • Document Verification : Selected candidates must produce original documents, such as degree certificates and caste certificates, to establish eligibility.
  • Medical Fitness : Appointment is subject to being found medically fit. Notably, candidates with color blindness are not eligible for these specific engineering posts.
  • Service Agreement : Those selected must undergo 6 months of training and sign a service agreement to serve BEL for at least 2 years, or pay Rs. 2,00,000 for breach of contract.
