How to Apply

  • One-Time Registration (OTR)
    • Even if you had an account on the old SSC website (ssc.nic.in), you must register on the new portal.
    • Visit the official website : ssc.gov.in.
    • Click on "Register Now" under the login section.
    • Enter your basic details : Name, Father's Name, Mother's Name, Date of Birth, and Gender (ensure these match your 10th certificate).
    • Provide your Mobile Number and Email ID to receive an OTP for verification.
    • Once verified, a Registration Number and Password will be generated.
  • Filling the Application Form
    • Log in to the portal using your new credentials.
    • Go to the "Apply" section on the dashboard and select "Phase-XIV/2026/Selection Posts".
    • Choose the Region and Post Code you wish to apply for (refer to the notification for post codes related to your qualification).
    • Select up to 3 preferred Exam Centres within the same region.
  • Uploading Documents
    • Live Photograph : Unlike previous years, the new portal may require a live photo capture via your webcam/phone camera. Ensure you are in a well-lit room with a plain background and no glasses/cap.
    • Signature : Upload a scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10–20 KB, approx. 6cm x 2cm).
    • Certificates : If claiming reservation (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD), ensure your certificates are ready. You don't usually upload them now, but you must enter the correct details.
  • Payment of Fee
    • Fee : ₹100.
    • Exempted Categories : All Women, SC, ST, PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen are exempted from paying the fee.
    • Mode : Online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Credit/Debit cards.
  • Final Submission
    • Click on the "Preview" button to double-check every entry.
    • Submit the form and take a printout of the final application for your records.

Selection Process

Step 1 : Computer-Based Examination (CBT)

This is the primary screening stage. Depending on the post you applied for, you will sit for one of three exam levels: Matriculation, Higher Secondary, or Graduation.

  • Format : 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for a total of 200 marks.

  • Duration : 60 minutes.

  • Sections : General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language (25 questions each).

  • Negative Marking : $0.50$ marks are deducted for every wrong answer.

Step 2 : Scrutiny of Documents (Postal Submission)

Candidates who meet the cut-off in the CBT must send hard copies of their supporting documents (educational certificates, experience, category proof) to the respective Regional Office for verification.

This stage is not mandatory for all posts. It is only required if the specific job description mentions a technical requirement.

Examples : Typing Test, Data Entry Test, or Computer Proficiency Test.

Step 3 : Skill Test (Post-Specific)

Step 4: Document Verification (DV)

Shortlisted candidates are called for physical verification of their original documents at the Regional Offices. This is to ensure all eligibility claims made during the application are authentic.

Step 5 : Final Selection & Medical Examination

The final merit list is prepared based only on the marks scored in the Computer-Based Examination. Selected candidates then undergo a medical fitness check-up by the specific department that issued the vacancy before receiving their joining letter.p 3
